Yorkville has always concentrated on bring the pro audio user a great product at a reasonable price. The very popular YX series of loudspeakers now includes the YX15P, a self-powered version of the passive Yorkville YX15. Our rental department depends on these great products and they never fail to perform and take a beating.
Designed by a company that has been manufacturing great products for over 50 years, this new active speaker hits a price-point sweet spot. Featuring a rugged enclosure that is made of 5/8 inch plywood, the YX15P offers solid bass response not found in other powered speaker housed in plastic enclosures. A full 300 watts of power is produced by the built-in amplifier section, making this speaker a perfect choice for small to medium sized venues. As you would expect, the YX15P has a stand mount receptacle in the bottom that is made of METAL, not plastic.
The front of the enclosure is also covered by a metal grill, and metal handles are there to help you transport the speaker from gig to gig. To offer you the highest level of flexibility, the speaker is multi-angled, and can be used as a floor monitor. XLR and 1/4 inch inputs are located on the rear input panel, and pass-thru jacks are also present if you need to pass signal to additional speakers or subwoofers. To help you custom-tailor the YX15P to any room, the rear panel also features a 3 band equalizer. For those of you who have a nerdy streak, like me, the amplifier for the low frequency transducer employs a Class H topology, while the compression driver is powered by a Class A/B amplifier.
